Rachel Renbarger is an educational researcher with the US Programs Business Unit within FHI 360. Her work revolves around understanding and addressing racial, ethnic, gender, and class inequities within K-12 and higher education systems. Specifically, she uses asset-based frameworks and mixed-method approaches to assess opportunity gaps and upend traditional messages about what strengths students bring to their school environments. Besides working as a researcher, Rachel has worked as a high school teacher, program evaluator, statistician, and project manager. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and a PhD from Baylor University. Rachel is currently located in Durham, North Carolina, where she enjoys reading, trying new foods, and kayaking.
