Maryann Stimmer is the Senior Technical Advisor for STEM at Educational Equity at FHI 360. She has extensive experience in formal and informal STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education. She conducts professional development and develops programs and materials that address equity issues around gender, race/ethnicity, disability, and socio-economic status.
Prior to joining FHI 360, Stimmer was a research biologist. She backed into education as a volunteer in Community School District 1 in New York City where she trained parents and teachers to do hands-on, minds-on science activities, created school-wide programs, and raised funds to support STEM programing.
Stimmer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the City University of New York. She is a graduate of the Parent Leadership Project at John Jay College.
