Kirsten Galisson is a Project Manager within the Global Education, Employment and Engagement Business Unit at FHI 360. She manages the Program for Educational Development (PRODEGE) for FHI 360, where she is responsible for ensuring the technical quality of the program interventions, provides technical assistance, financial monitoring and overall oversight of the $50 million project funded by Hess Corporation and the Government of Equatorial Guinea. She also manages a project funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation working to improve the quality of lower secondary education in Guatemala.
Galisson is an international education specialist with more than a decade of experience in the management, coordination and implementation of education programs in developing countries. She has demonstrated technical expertise in teacher professional development, materials development, active schools, early grade literacy, monitoring and evaluation, and public-private partnerships. She has supported several education development projects in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America with multiple partners and components funded by USAID and other donors.
Before she joined FHI 360, Galisson directed a volunteer teacher program for WorldTeach in Costa Rica, where she was responsible for fielding, training and monitoring volunteer teachers working for the Telesecundaria program of the Ministry of Education. She earned her MA in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California, and speaks English, Spanish and German.
