Alejandra De Freitas
Senior Technical Officer
Alejandra De Freitas is a Senior Technical Officer with the Global Education department at FHI 360. In this role, she provides technical assistance to the Advance Program. She works closely with field teams to ensure technical quality of program interventions in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras and Jamaica. De Freitas also contributes to research related to post-primary and higher education topics, including leading a qualitative study on barriers to completion of tertiary technical education in Guatemala and Honduras.
De Freitas has eight years of experience designing, implementing and providing monitoring and evaluation support for international education, youth development and workforce projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining FHI 360, De Freitas worked for international organizations such as the International Youth Foundation, Chemonics International and the Organization of American States where she provided technical expertise in the areas of teachers’ professional development, socio-emotional and employability skills, and positive youth development. She has also contributed to the analysis of qualitative research focused on youth employment, entrepreneurship and soft skills for the Mastercard Foundation.
De Freitas holds a master’s degree in international development from the University of Minnesota with a concentration in program evaluation and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida. She is a Peruvian native fluent in both English and Spanish.
