Rebecca Callahan is a Scientist with FHI 360’s Contraceptive Technology Innovation Team where she oversees clinical trials of new contraceptive methods and research related to new contraceptive product acceptability. She is a public health scientist with more than 15 years of experience in the field of global reproductive health. Callahan’s primary research interests include contraceptive technology development and introduction, family planning program improvement, and demography.

Previous experience

Callahan previously served as Family Planning Technical Advisor with the USAID Office of Population and Reproductive Health and has worked on global reproductive health research projects in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America. She also served as a Health and NGO Development Volunteer with the Peace Corps in Nepal.

Callahan holds a PhD in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University, an MPH from Emory University, and Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Anthropology from West Virginia University.
