Michael (Mike) O’Brien is a Technical Advisor in the Crisis Response Department at FHI 360. He specializes in humanitarian emergencies related to conflict, mass displacement and disease outbreaks.
O’Brien incorporates elements of community mobilization and systems design in an attempt to develop sustainable approaches. His work spans across Africa, the Middle East and Europe, and he has responded to major emergencies such as the West Africa Ebola outbreak, the Syrian conflict and the Nepal earthquake. He is a member of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Global Health Cluster.
O’Brien has a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion from Jacksonville State University and a Master of Applied Science in Humanitarian Health from Johns Hopkins University.
